Safety! The peace of mind that your boat meets federal safety standards and that in an emergency you will have the necessary equipment to save lives and summon help. Additionally, you will avoid substantial fines should you ever be boarded by law enforcement and found to be in violation.In many cases boating insurance agencies offer discounts for vessels which undergo a Vessel Safety Check every year.

​Vessels passing safety checks are awarded a U.S. Coast Guard / Auxiliary Decal that informs Sheriff's & Police and other boating law-enforcement & safety agency's that your boat was in full compliance with all Federal and State boating laws during a safety check for that year.

United States Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla – 26-01


We are actively seeking volunteers to take on the following roles:

  • ​Instructors to teach Boating Safety Classes
  • ​Vessel Examiner
  • ​Boat Crew and Coxswain
  • ​Grant Writers
  • Marine Safety Specialist


The Auxiliary has a proud tradition of support to the United States Coast Guard and helping mariners needing assistance on the water. In an average day the Coast Guard Auxiliary Saves 14 lives, Assists 328 people, Saves $8,000,000 in property, Services 150 aids to Navigation, (buoys, signs, markers) Conducts over 500 hours of Safety Patrols and performs over 200 Vessel Safety Checks.
